Spring is Blooming and The New Schedule is Booming!
Happy Spring everyone!
Once again it’s time to shed our winter coats, get outside and get moving again. What better way to shake off the winter blahs than new classes at Jen Murphy Fitness
New Silver Sneakers Class
Silver Sneakers Classic classes have been rocking all winter, and since a bigger building is not in the budget, we have added two more Silver Sneakers eligible classes to our already loaded schedule.
Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:15 a.m. Silver Sneakers Circuit classes are now running. What’s the difference? Circuit classes use all the same exercises and cardio moves as the Classic classes, but we time each move, rather than count it. This allows the participant to challenge themselves with increased repetitions and more resistance, or take it slow if need be. As always at Jen Murphy Fitness, it’s your workout.
All Silver Sneakers classes, including Chair Yoga, Zumba Silver and Beginner Spin are open to all fitness levels and are only $5 if you do not have the Silver Sneakers benefit through your insurance. Not sure if you have the benefit? We can check your eligibility over the phone or when you come in.
No need to reserve a spot, walk-ins are welcome any day. Please come in a few minutes early to get set up.
Upstairs, zen is flowing freely and Hot Yoga has once again come to an end: Ian’s Vinyasa Flow class is moving to Tuesday nights at 6 p.m., but have no fear, Open Yoga with Eileen will run Thursdays at 6 p.m.

New TRX Class Makes Every Saturday Super
Back in the main studio, our ever popular Saturday schedule is once again expanding. For all you early-risers, TRX classes at 7 a.m. Saturdays is a great way to jump-start your weekend with a quick workout, or warm up for Weight Training at 8 a.m., that makes for a great one-two Saturday morning punch!
Similar to the 4:30 p.m. TRX class, this 40 minute class uses body weight and simple moves to constantly work the core, while challenging specific muscle groups. We’ll throw in a challenge move at the end, something to work towards and brag about.
This class, just like all Jen Murphy Fitness classes are open to all fitness levels, walk-ins are always welcome.
Worried About How to Get Started?
A quick note to beginners or those who want to get started: All of us was a beginner at one time. We all have felt intimidated to walk into a new class, worried that when we do, we’d stand out or embarrass ourselves. But please know that all of our friendly and outgoing instructors and long-time class members are rooting for you! Our goal isn’t the perfect plank, it’s having fun trying to achieve something that resembles a plank. And remember, Jen Murphy Fitness is non-competitive, no coordination needed fun place to work out. Think of it as adult recess.
