International Yoga Day at Jen Murphy Fitness
Over the past several years, Jen Murphy Fitness has celebrated International Yoga Day by holding Yoga in the Park, here in Milford, Pennsylvania. Participants have enjoyed, what always has turned out to be, a beautiful morning, with 90 minutes of poses and fun with dozens of other yoga lovers.
This year, due to Coronavirus limitations, we’ve decided to hold the same type of outdoor event, but safely via Zoom. Everyone is welcome to follow along from home. And if the weather cooperates, finding a peaceful spot outdoors is encouraged. Always follow social distancing guidelines.
We invite you to join us on Sunday June 21, 2020. Those who wish to participate must sign up via the Zoom registration page. Simply click “Join” on the image below.
The Origins of Yoga
Appropriately, the word “Yoga” has its origins in Sanskrit, and means “to join” or “to unite.” Yoga was originated in India over 5,000 years ago, and even now continues to grow in popularity.
In 2014 the United Nations declared June 21 to be International Yoga Day, in order to raise awareness of the “many benefits of practicing yoga.”
